Thin Ice Rescue
A downloadable game
Thin Ice Rescue is an extremely simple casual endless grid-based arcade collect 'em up for the Game Boy.
Story
An ice sheet has broken off and is heading towards open water, the poor panic-stricken penguins have forgotten how to swim. As a lone antarctic researcher; you must try to save them all.
Features
- Three difficulty levels with additional customization.
- Game ROM is 32KB in size, no MBC or RAM required.
How to play
The goal is to collect penguins and avoid falling in the water. Grab ice-creams to power up and defeat the flying albatrosses that are hot on your tail.
The game was designed to run on real hardware but works fine on most accurate emulators. We suggest using the BGB emulator if you're running a Windows PC.

About
This was a quick and simple project, just a bit of fun. It's nothing you want to play for hours on end, but it works decently enough as a simple pick-up-and-play game. It really felt liberating working on something that didn't take ages to see through.
Thin Ice Rescue was inspired by
IvanBASIC's excellent little Breaking the Ice one-line (!)
BASIC game for the ZX Spectrum.
